Anne de Harlez

My work is an analysis, a reflection about destiny, and more, a microcosm of my destiny as a woman, and a macrocosm of the female part of the world.

Both microcosm and macrocosm bring my work to a reflection on the influences of family roots, of education, of cultural and social context on the construction of the female identity. The salvage part of ourself versus the educated one.

The definition of time, as an example, is naturally different for a woman as it is for a man. Their hormonal rythms are almost antagonistic but the occidental calender is aligned on male rythm only. Has a woman to adapt herself or react to this cultural/unnatural element of her life?

Create consciousness, question the nature, and thus invent new ways of life.

The female part of the world is not only matter of women. Every human being has a female and a male part of himself coexisting pacifically or not, living in harmony or not, accepted or not. This evidence when accepted as is a key of social tolerance and inner deep balance for everyone.
